Legal Requirements:
Employers have an obligation under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L74) to make adequate and appropriate First Aid provision for their workforce. It is also recommended that someone is able to undertake First Aid duties at all times when people are at work.

First Aid at Work 3 day course

This is a Health and Safety Executive recognised course which fully complies with Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L74 guidelines for the qualification of workplace First Aiders.

 

What you will learn:

An understanding of a variety of approaches, strategies and techniques to help you manage Emergancy situations.
Basic Life Support.

Legal aspects of First Aid at Work.
Treatment of the unconscious casualty.
Treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked.

Emergency transport of casualties.
Treatment of fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries.
Treatment of burns, poisoning and eye injuries.
Treatment of common major and minor illnesses.
Prevention of cross-infection during First Aid at Work procedures.

 

What you will receive:


After successful completion of the First Aid at Work course and a practical assessment which will be on the last day, the student will be awarded the HSE recognised, First Aid at Work Certificate which is valid for three years.

First Aid at Work 2 Day Refresher Course

This is a Health and Safety Executive recognised course which fully complies with Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L74 guidelines for the qualification of workplace First Aiders.

 

Do you have a First Aid at Work Certificate which is about to expire?

 

Remember, your First Aid at Work Certificate is only valid for three years so to avoid having to complete the full three day course again you will be required to attend a Refresher Course in order  to re-qualify.

Emergency First Aid at Work 1 Day Course

Who should attend?

 

Our course is designed for those people who want to receive Emergency First Aid training and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

 

 

What you will learn:

 

Underdstand the role and reposibilities of a first aider.

Know how to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking.

Be able to assess an incident.

Manage a unreponsive casualty who is breathing normally.

Manage aunresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally. 

Manage a casualty with a minor injury.

Manage a casualty who is in shock.

 

What you will receive:

 

Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
at QCF Level 2.
 

Course Dates

 

 

Automated External Defibrillation (AED) 1 Day Course.

Not only does this course deal with the use of an AED but it also includes vital training in resuscitation and choking procedure.

 

This course is suitable for people who are required to operate an AED system confidently in public areas or in the workplace.


Target group:

People who attend this course include healthcare professionals and individuals working in public areas.


What will you learn:

This course will provide you or your staff with the knowledge and confidence to use an automated external defibrillator.

Chain of survival
Treatment of an unconscious casualty.
Resuscitation
Recovery position
Sudden Cardiac Arrest
The heart
using the AED.
AED specifics and practice

  

What you receive:

 

Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation (CPR & AED) at QFC Level 2.

 

Course Dates
 

Paediatric First Aid 1 and 2 Day Course

 

This course is suitable for those who are working with children and infants or for parents who wish to upskill in family first aid.

It would be of particular interest to Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Child Minders, Crèche Assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care.

It is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, who wish to gain a nationally accredited Level 3 Award.

This 1 or 2 day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED.

 

What you receive:

 

Award in Paediatric First Aid at QFC Level 3.
